The Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party

Merri Baird and Christian love fishing, specifically rainbow trout so they kicked off their Greensboro, NC wedding weekend with a rehearsal dinner that was a nod to that love. After sentimental and equally hysterical speeches we snuck out for couple photos before everyone finished the night together with a concert downtown Greensboro.

The Wedding Day

Merri and Christian threw a black-tie affair with a garden-romantic soul in Greensboro, NC. Their invitation suite set the tone with hand-painted chinoiserie botanicals in lavender and chartreuse, gilded in gold calligraphy, and that same palette carried straight through to the flowers: lush, oversized arrangements of garden roses, peonies, and hydrangea in blush, ivory, and soft pink.

The ceremony took place at the historic West Market Street United Methodist Church, and the reception unfolded at Greensboro Country Club’s ballroom dressed in olive velvet drapery.

The florals leaned garden-lush rather than structured: oversized dual arches of blush and ivory garden roses, peonies, and hydrangea, softened with loose greenery, framed the reception entrance and carried into the space as tall, romantic centerpieces on the round tables. Inside the reception space, the floral installations played beautifully against the black-and-white checkerboard marble floors and the deep olive velvet drapery, giving the whole room a rich, jewel-toned backdrop.
